What the owner wanted

The owner’s original building had a 45’ x 45’ shop space with an additional 45’ x 45’ cold storage area in the back. But as farming tasks grew and the machinery got bigger, a more spacious shop became a necessity.

Who helped build it

According to Matt from Agre Farms, Jason Kerr Construction kept the project moving ahead quickly, from the very beginning. “We met right away. He basically came out on a Saturday morning and met with me and talked about it. And by Tuesday I had a quote.”

Jason also brought smart building solutions, coming up with a plan to revamp the existing 45’ x 45’ shop. “It’s now 45’ x 90’ for complete shop storage for a farm,” says Matt.

And Matt’s satisfaction extends to the construction costs. “I felt that Jason earned his wage. And if anything else, he really should have got a little more!”

What was special about the project

When a farm needs more space, sometimes a new building is required. In this case, an addition was a smart move. But that also came with project challenges.

Construction had to take place in the midst of a busy farm’s workflow and an active shop area. That takes a flexible builder and team work from all parties involved.

Matt says Jason and the building crew knew how to get the job done without interrupting the day-to-day duties of the farmhands.

Why a pole barn from Wick Buildings was the right choice

Agre Farms now has the shop space needed to store—and work on—the various pieces of equipment and machinery that keep a farm going. More than that, because the building materials are from Wick, Agre Farms has also gained numerous advantages, including the following:

Superior lumber. Wick uses only lumber that meets or exceeds machine-graded specifications for all structural components, from trusses and columns to girts and purlins. In addition to the visual benefits of this cleaner lumber, it’s at least 15% stronger than regular lumber.

Durable steel. All Wick pole barns include full-hard exterior steel, with 80,000 PSI hardness or better, resulting in fewer dents. That steel is also G-90 galvanized for better corrosion protection.

Exceptional paint performance. Our paint coating is warrantied not to chip or crack for 40 years and comes in a spectrum of colors.

Exceptional quality for the long term. Wick buildings are designed to be reliable and low-maintenance. That’s a perfect combination for letting the crew on Agre Farms focus on farming, not building upkeep.
