Wick’s Legacy Is In Mazomanie

Wick Buildings, Inc. broke ground on a new production and office complex at a ceremony attended by over 100 employees, retirees, board members, and special guests on June 6, 2024 at 11 a.m. Gary Harrop, Mazomanie Village President, and Allan Breidenbach, President and General Manager of Wick Buildings, shared comments about the importance of Wick Buildings being located in Mazomanie, where John F. Wick started the company 70 years ago.

“Sometime around 20 years ago, John Wick called and said that he had purchased a triangular piece of property along Highway 14 that the Village would need for an entrance to expand its industrial park. He also said something to the effect of ‘give me a call when you need it,’” Gary Harrop remarked at the groundbreaking, explaining how in 2008 the call was made, and the industrial park was completed.

New National Headquarters and Plant

The property is located on the western edge of Mazomanie on the corner of Highway 14 and Wick Drive. The new facility is expected to be completed and occupied the summer of 2025. Multiple current production and warehouse units will be combined into a single 90,000 square foot production facility and 12,000 square foot warehouse, allowing Wick Buildings to achieve improved production efficiencies, better logistics and simplified material handling. Attached to the plant will be a 15,000 square foot 2-story office, providing state-of-the-art workspaces for employees.

“Wick Buildings has a reputation within the post-frame market of being an innovative group that sets the standards for others to follow. This building sets the stage for us to push this advantage within the market,” stated Allan Breidenbach. “Perhaps most importantly, this facility will help us better support our builders and customers into the 22nd century,” added Breidenbach.

80,000 Quality Buildings and Counting

In continuous operations since 1954 and with more than 80,000 buildings completed, Wick Buildings provides post-frame structures for agricultural, dairy, equine, residential, personal storage, municipal, commercial, and light industrial markets. Wick Buildings are sold by independent builders and built by independent builders and Wick crews who live and work in their local communities. Wick is a majority employee-owned company. Allan Breidenbach joined Wick Buildings in November 2018 as President, having spent his career in a variety of leadership positions in construction and construction materials companies.
